A family run business spanning over 90 years, Lyon’s Holiday Parks own and operate holiday parks and hotels with currently ten holiday parks in total, nine in North Wales and one in Cumbria, and two hotels, both in North Wales. The Reason For Change

Lyon’s Holiday Park has a clear path of growth within their business, and needed a system which could support this. They needed an EPOS system which could handle transactions in their park receptions, park sales offices and in their bars and restaurant. As Lyon’s is spread across a number of sites, it was essential to them to have a system which ties all these functions in one integrated system. Lyon’s Holiday Park needed an EPOS solution which could feed data directly with their Sage 200 accounting software.

The Solution

As VisiSoft integrates with Sage 200 as standard, Lyon’s have the ability to eliminate the need for manual entry of data into their accounts package. This integrated solution enables Lyon’s to reduce their resource of bookkeeping, whilst significantly improving the accuracy of their transactions from the point of sale. Nearly all of their business transactions now go through the tills, the sale of static caravans, holiday caravan hire, selling tickets for events and more all through VisiSoft.

Owners will pay their annual site fees, pay for gas bottles and utility charges for caravans they own, holiday makers will pay for their holidays and obviously there is considerable food and refreshments expenditure going through the tills.

The Benefits

Since the implementation of VisiSoft, Lyon’s no longer have to post cash transactions manually which is a significant saving on resource. This has enabled the company to absorb the growth they have been experiencing without have to recruit extra staff in compensation. This eliminated risk of faults in data entry means accurate data entry for all transactions at the point of sale. VisiSoft provided their management team with Training on the EPOS Software so that they can deal with any issues should they arise.

We haven’t actually had to increase our finance team, I’ve been able to support this growth in the business through automating more of the processes, so it’s hats off to VisiSoft and Sage 200. Having an integrated solution in our bars, sales offices, our receptions, and hotels means every night all the tills will post automatically into Sage 200 so we no longer have a load of manual processes

The Future

Lyons currently have around 32 tills across their multiple locations, with plans for growth they’re ready to follow this out to more locations and increase the number of tills to around 42 over the coming months. The key thing for Lyon’s Holiday Park is they wanted a EPOS provider who could grow with them.

We intend to implement VisiSoft at all of our parks. The key thing is that VisiSoft can grow with us and I’m comfortable that they can deliver as we continue to expand our number of parks
